Eating Habits

I used to get up around 7 and feed my newf then off to work.....he was getting heavy too fast so I now get up at 5:30 walk him then feed him ,but now he does not eat till about 10 am. and does not always eat all his food.......I feed him again at 4pm and he eats all his food...........I feed him 2 cups per feeding......should I lessen the morning feeding and increase the night feeding?can I feed him before I take him for a walk? He is 10 months old and I want to do right by him ,I am a first time Newfoundland owner any responses to the board or e-mailed to me at booboo@bestweb.net or El10FAN@aol.com will be appreciated

It is highly recommended to feed a low protein food, 23% or lower, what brand are you feeding?
my pup gets 3 cups a day, my adults 2 cups a day, with a very small amount of canned.
is your boy nuetered?
if so it is most crucial to make sure to keep him thin, altering takes away hormones, and i have seen firsthand how many altered pets will get overweight.

I feed Wysong Maintenance 2cupsam 2 cups pm ...he is not neutered I would guess he weighs about 120 not heavy for a male of 10 months right?Last vet visit 3 months ago he was 97#.....
