Drying those swimming ears

In the summer, Herb (my VERY sweet newf) and I are swimming constantly between water work training and just playing out on the boat.

Do people have a routine for getting the ears dry? I know keeping them trimmed is important, but does anyone have good suggestions for drying solutions? Toweling doesn't seem to be enough.

Thanks!

As long as the ears are not raw and sore you can use alochol. It is very drying. I mix 50/50 white vinager and alochol--vinager kills bacteria and alochol drys.

Now that's a very good question. I'd like to know, too, since we'll be practically living at the lake come summer...

Thanks everyone for your responses so far. I am wondering as a few others are about application. Are you flushing the ears or just dabbing on the inside?

Sometime I flush the ear, other times I apply the mixture to a cotton ball. NEVER use a q-tip. You can also trim the hair around th ear canal, that will allow air to circulate into the ear and help dry it. I shave (10 blade) my girl's ears about an inch around the ear canal. I clean ears at least once a week. No I don't use rubbing alcohol I use the other kind (don't have the bottle to spell but it starts with an "I")
