Dry eyes

I took all my girls to the vet yesterday for their annual checkup. Sara's eyes have been getting lots of matter in them so I had the vet check them. She said her eyes are not producing tears as they should be. Could be caused by a slight infection or age. (I would think age since Sara is 10 1/2) Anyway I have an antibiotic cream to put in her eyes 3 times a day for a week. If the matter continues we can continue to use the cream or get eye drops. Has anyone had any problems simular to this???

The eye drops seems to be working. Sara's eyes are clearing up. Another ritual to do for my girl 2-3 times per day for life. checked on caterac (sp) and it is too expensive $1500 per eye I am told. Will do more checking

Not had any experience with dry eye but i bet it is because of her age . Just last i myself was told i had dry eye by my doctor and i started with the antibotic then from there to just drops for moisture i have to put in quite frequently.
