dog doors?

Hey y'all:

We're moving into a new house, and I want to put in a dog door that can accommodate our Newf, two hounds and a Maltese. In other words, from five pounds to 120. In our current house, we have a cheap-o door and I'd like to upgrade. Any suggestions on brands/strategies for dog doors would be greatly appreciated.

Ask Julie (Windancer). She is putting dog doors in her new house and can probably tell you all about them......I know she did some research.

My niece in Florida has a door that automatically opens for her two Goldens.

there are doors out there that are activated by an electronic chip in the pet's collar so other critters can't walk through ...like burglars! this is a newf sized door remember. I think they are fairly expensive, but that is the only thing I would utilize. That size door would be too much temptation for nere-do-wells (hm, haven't used that expression for a while)...or even critters like raccoons and possums, or in our neighborhood, killer rabbits.
