does anyone have experience with newfy cataract surgery

Has anyone's newf had cataract surgery? If so can you recommend who and where and how much?

Nine years ago, I had a bitch who had the surgery in which the cataract was removed and a lens implanted. Then, it cost about 2k and was well worth the money. I consulted 2 different ophthalmologists - one wanted to remove both cataracts with no lens which would have resulted in less acuity. Her surgery was done in northern VA. Just check around for a board certified ophthalmologist with lots of experience in the procedure, preferably on large dogs.
