I've been rawfeeding for 10 months. Contrary to what some think, raw diets are not high in protein, nor are they low in protein-- between 18 & 20%, depending upon what meat is fed. For instance, according to the usda site www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/food/comp/search/ 100 grams of turkey dark meat and skin contains 18% protein. So turkey necks with bone in would be much less protein per gram. The site mentioned is great for comparing protein contents of meats, but doesn't consider the bone content. Hope this helps.
