I have a huge collection of Disney videos. My children watched them and then the grandchildren, some now grown.. My newest "pessus" is now old enough..(at 2 1/2) This last weekend when they were here and I got to baby sit, we watched a couple...'Dumbo' and 'Lady and the Tramp'...I had forgotten, but it struck me how politically incorrect they would be in this day and age. I am really suprised someone hasn't tried to ban them...I prize the collection and would never give them up. although they are VCR...and I have made sure to save a player.

Julie have you considered having your collection transfered to dvd? This way you can preserve the original copies.

I'm in the same boat too. Saved them all for the grandkids...who have them on DVD. I sold a couple on Amazon, but I love them myself.

I have them all on tape too, and then started buying them on dvd. If they come out with something else, I'm going to be really annoyed.

I can't tell you how many times we watched Sleeping Beauty when Ashton was little, but it always bothered me a little that no Princess ever had a living Mother. ( At least that I can think of off the top of my head!)

See my sig quote - we love Lady and the Tramp here. :) Yes there are some very politically incorrect parts to the stories...I guess I think of them as teaching moments. I'm not a huge fan of the Disney empire, but I have to say they did somewhat redeem themselves in my eyes with Pocahantas and Mulan, both of whom are strong young women with a good inner compass/sense of who they are, neither of whom needs a man to save her or make her complete.

Lady and the Tramp is still my favorite though...

The grandson just moved out and took my stash......now I'm gonna have to buy them for myself! As for politically correct, schimtilly correct....I say! I watched the original Winnie the Pooh Robin Hood and actually thought that but no matter just plain ol great movies.

We have a copy of "Song of the South". Boy, you talk about politically incorrect, but the songs, the music, and the other things that attract a 2 year old, are really good. All my grandgirls can sing "Zip A Dee Doo Dah".
