Dangerous dogs programme channel 5 UK

Sorry to all those not in the uk as you would not have seen this programme last night......to say I am shocked and saddened beyond belief is an understatement.

It featured pit bull owners that trained and wanted their dogs to be as vicious and dangerous as possible. These dogs were kicked and punched to toughen them up. They are a ticking time bomb in my opinion and it's an innocent member of the public that will suffer. Making these dogs illegal has made them a status symbol for the dregs of our society that have less than 2 brain cells between them....somebody will be attacked and the dog PTS all so they look good on the streets.....morons!

It was truely disturbing and made me ashamed to be from the uk...these idiot people should be PTS....to think this programme was aired on the day our heroes of the great war went to battle, :confused:they would turn in their graves to think they gave their lives for the trash we have today.....what has happened to the world we live in?

you are braver than me , I knew it was on tv , but I could not bring myself to watch it , and I could not have expressed how disturbing the situation is as well as you , I agree with you , what has happened to our society , I live in a small village/town , and am moving really soon , as I cannot live with some of the dregs of humanity in it any longer , it all makes you feel so helpless,

Sadly it isn't just happening in the UK. It seems that it is everywhere these days. Even small town USA has the same problems with people thinking that vicious animals give them status.

Sadly I think it was meant to show how wrong this is on every level but just gave the dregs something else to brag about....in their warped world they are now famous. I am only 35 but boy life was much better when I was a little girl. Back then the only way to get a dog was through a breeder or rescue no free ads no puppy farms, I feel sorry for the dogs I have no experience with pit bulls but I am sure they can make wonderful pets in the right hands sadly bless them they end up in horrid cruel home with people that want them to fight to the death so sad.

Very true. These morons think it makes them look tough or cool or whatever to have a vicious dog. I met someone in a parking lot years ago who was telling me and another Newf owner how someone he knew wanted to get a Newf and teach him to be vicious. We were horrified and boy, did we set him straight.

And they are in Australia too.....they have made owning a Pittbull in Australia illegal, which is wrong as it is not the breed, but those at the end of the leash........All very sad

This is happening all over by the sounds of it....I guess the why questions are beyond me....I just hope something can be done before it's really too late. I am lucky that in Cornwall mostly this kind of stuff doesn't seem to happen just hope it stays that way. It shocks me Australia is like this you guys are so wonderful at protecting your wildlife and love animals when I was living there it seemed as if the bad stuff in the world had escaped the beautiful Aus....I still love it there would love to go back it truly is paradise.

It is sad, but due to the idiots who like to own them and we have had sevarl bad attacks (some leading to death) and non-dog people have decided the rule under emotional conditions. Sadly it affect bull type looking dogs, often staffy crosses and such as they have "the Look"....They are very strict and many dogs have been impounded...As loose as Australia really is with all other dog laws, such as being able to go so many places. they are neurotic about the Pittbulls. So I have always been glad mine are black and fluffy.........
