Conjunctivitis

Last week Winston had conjunctivitis and I have been putting ointment in his eyes and got him cleard up and now Bella has got it. Not the easiest job in the world putting things in the dogs eyes.

Any ideas of where they catch it and how to keep heads still and eyes open while putting in ointment.

Well since I am putting ointment in Sam's eyes 3 times a day I guess I qualify to answer this.

I usually make Sam sit, (say I am putting it in her right eye) I brace the left side of her head against my right leg. I use my left hand to pull the lower eye lid down then using my right hand I squeeze the amount into her eye. Simple!!

Thanks

It works well for Winston but is not working for Bella who wiggles and shakes head and runs off.

She is the same with ear cleaner and now they are passing this eye infection between them. Just get one better then the other one gets it now both again.

Off to the vets in the morning and hoping we can get something other than ointment as its impossible with Bella.

IF IT'S TRUE CONJUNCTIVITIS IT'S VERY CONTAGIOUS. WHEN MALCOLM HAS HAD EYE OINTMENT. I ALWAY GIVE HIM A LITTLE DOG BONE AFTER IF HE STAYS STILL AND THAT HELPS ALOT. SINCE HE KNOWS IF HE'S GOOD HE'LL GET THE TREAT. :D
