Colonial Newfoundland Club is having our FALL FUN DAY on Sat 9/16/06 from 10A- 3P at the Fernwood Pavilion of Downs Park, 8311 John Downs Loop, Pasadena, MD 21122.

Silly contests (Who-Will-Eat-Anything, Dressed for Success, Fastest/Slowest/Sloppiest Sit etc), a Newfoundland Agility Course (high jump is a broomstick on two bricks, tunnel is hula hoops with a tablecloth)and a Romp n' Swim on the beach are the highlights.

Grills, hot dogs and drinks are provided, the hilarious Newfs Gone Bad calendar is available for purchase and bodacious baskets will be raffled off.

We might even have musical freestyle, carting and basic water training demos.Oh, and real bathrooms!

You haven't lived until you've seen 60+ Newfs cavorting together on a beach and been slobbered and shed on by what seems like all of them.

And guess what? It's free except for the $5 park admission.

More details? Email me directly at the address below.

Awww, bummer! I'd love to join you but I've already indebted myself to attend the "Puppy Mill Awareness Day" that day.

Sounds like a whole lot of fun though! Put it up sooner next year. Maybe I'll be able to attend then.

I would just like to congratulate xavier on the great job she did organizing this years fall fun day. I know we had a great time! Our puppy Dylan had his name changed to Cobra due to his speed record of hot dog snatching. I believe he stole 4 hotdogs off of people's plates throughout the day. Think we might have to work on "leave it" some more. Here is a link to the pictures we took.

Dylan also scored some potato salad that I saw. He's already developed an admirably quick and devious technique despite his youth.

I thought he was going to go all the way in "Who Will Eat Anything" when I watched him scarf down the whole raw mushroom, one of only three to do so.

Too bad the wax bottle knocked him out of the finals, but he did eat one later when I gave it to him.

For the record, it was Newfie & Tinkerbelle in the finals who got served the iceberg lettuce stump. Newfie had the sense to reject it but Tinkerbelle ate hers and then gobbled down his too.

And we missed you Coral. In Keegan's honor, we changed the Newf Agility Course so that the dog has to be in a 3 ft zone between you and the Temptation Table.

After he snatched the hot dog and went for the donut 2 yrs ago, we noticed how you carefully maneuvered yourself between he and the snacks last year and decided we'd better close that loophole!
