Snuffles buddy Buckwheat went to the Bridge about 10:30 PM this evening. He belonged to a elderly fellow who lives about a block away. We met them walking when they were on the screen porch. Lot of hissing back then through the screen, but as time went on we decided to try a face to face. In fact we had just left visiting Buckwheat and walking home when Snuffles CCL ruptured.
Buckwheat though middle aged for a cat had congestive heart failure, and had to have fluids drained from lung sack since Sept. But the last time was blood and they said scar tissue was forming. It was becoming several times a week. My buddy called about 9:30 PM and asked me if I would go with him to the vet clinic (same as mine), though the decision to let him go was made on the drive up there. Then the on call staff pretty much helped seal the decision.
