Can't insert pics in postings

Hi all, I only get the little box with red x in it as you can see from my multible posts.
So here is the link to Duffy's pic along with Reddy at Christmas. It also has taken me forever to figure out my digital camera. We also have 2 additionl rescue Exotics in the folder on cats, Max and Callie. My litte Calico exotic died 2 months ago at 13yrs of a fast spreading brain tumor.
If someone can explain the "putting pics in your
postings" to me I would appreciate it. It took forever to figure out how to do the Avator.
Just copy and past the address. It WORKS!!!!! Or it may show up as a link....who knows?

I fixed it for you. You probably need to post them somewhere like Fototime that allows you to link to individual pictures. Check it and make sure I got the right one!

To list pictures, you must first upload them to a picture hosting site, such as Fototime

Once they're uploaded, you create a link to the single picture you want to share. On Fototime, you click on the picture, then from the menu on the left of the screen, (under the "tools" section) click on "create a link". That will open a new screen with more choices to make. You want to choose "standard size" (which will make a link to your picture as a standard size of about 3 x 5 inches). "Original size" is quite often too large and will take some people very long to view. "Thumbnail" sized is tiny, (about 1 x 1 inch) and is best used only as a tiny avatar.

OK, so you've chosen the "standard" size, so you want to copy the entire URL that is in the "link" box (to copy, hold down the "ctrl + "c" buttons on your keyboard). Now, I usually have a second screen open with Newf Net on it, at this point. Come to Newf Net, and go to the Newf Photos section. "start new topic", write what you'd like about your picture, then click on the "image" button (bottom of the page under the section called "instant UBB code"). When you click on the image button, a little screen will pop up, which tells you to "enter the URL for the item you wish to display". This is where you paste ("ctrl" + "v" on your keyboard) the link that you had created at Fototime. Once the link is pasted, click the "OK" button. Your link will automatically be added to the text in the box where you were typing.

Be sure to click the "add reply" button, then you're done!

If you want to share a several pictures at once: You can do one of two things. You can make a photo album at Fototime, then create a link that will take people to the album to view it...OR you can create links one at a time to the pictures, and repeat the process that I showed you above for the "single picture" posting.

If you want to share a link, you will click on the name of your photo album, then choose "create a link", then "standard size", then copy the link. Come back to Newf Net and "start a new topic". Type what you'd like to say, then, instead of clicking the "image" button, click the "URL" button. A box will pop up and you will paste the link in it, then a second box pops up where you will name the link (put the title of the photo album), then click "OK". Click on the "add reply" button, and you're done. Now people can just click on that link and it will take them to your photo album, where they can see all of the pictures you want to share.
