.I just have to brag a little about my gorgeous Effie May. We just got home from her vet check up, and Rabies Vac'....The Vet was very impressed with her lean 110 lbs..I know some of you don't agree with what I feed my Pup's, but remember that is ALL I feed them,(no extras) I really think it has worked in our favour, her coat, eye's, teeth all are in "perfect" condition, he said her heart sounded wonderful, and he just thinks she is a gem and a shiny one :D , her coat is real glossy!.-as do I.but then again she is mine!! :D
We talked about getting her hips x-rayed again, and he recommended waiting until she is two, because if we got it done now(she is 14 months), we would have to do it again at 2 to get her "official" OFA rating, so it looks like September I am going round 2 with a heat cycle!!

That is a vet trip to cherish..and sounds like she is a poster girl for the care she is getting. As to the Sept. umm concern..between now and then..arrange for a 3 week vacation..on a very small island retreat somewhere. Take lots of books and a nice fridge. well-stocked..and let the rest of the family take care of themselves for a few weeks. Pick up some brocures soonest..so you gals can start checking out the prospects, and the temps. ;) ina n HB

May I ask what a heat cycle has to do with OFA xrays? Just looked funny in that sentence so was trying to understand what you meant. It confused me.

The pelvic bones tend to spread out a bit when a dog comes into her heat cycle. That is what the vet told me, anyway.

Ahh for easier doggy boinking, got it.. Thanks. Only thing I coud think of was messy LOL

Jenn, I meant that she will have another heat cycle before she is two....the x-rays and the heat had nothing in common, just that I had to go through another!!!!
.and the reason we are waiting until she is two, is because then she will have finished growing!.

Ina I love your suggestion. I just may do that!!

Heidi I promise I will get pictures of her on this weekend!..

Oh...I thought that maybe you were having her spayed at the same time you were doing the films for OFA.

I believe that quite a few people do them both at the same time.

Is that what you're planning, then? We'll do the films at the same time as the spaying with Mira.
