Our 4 1/2 year old newf is being diagnosed with bone cancer and we have to decide on treatment options. Any infor as to what people have tried and the success they had would be helpful. Also do you know of any newf who has had a front leg amputated and how they did. Thanks.

I'm so sorry you and your pup are having to deal with bone cancer. I do know there have been newfs who have had amutations. But I honestly cannot remember the particulars. I would recommend joining the Newf-L email list and posting this question to the list. In addition, I would be extensively be searching the web for treatment alternatives. However, I suspect you are doing that already. Best of success to you and your pup and much love being sent your way.

On the yahoo group list there is a group called newf-tech. They seem to talk about technical stuff. I would try a post there. Good Luck. I am so sorry about your newf. Please keep us posted

Please don't give up! There are so many amazing advances and breakthroughs in veterinary sciences today, we don't always have to say goodbye to our babies. Especially since it sounds like you caught this early.

I will pray for your baby and your family, darlin'. We're here for you.
