Blowing coat

Now that it's Spring, our little one has been blowing his coat for the past couple of weeks. There are little tufts of black fur balls all over the place! We gave him a bath sunday night and clumps of fur were floating towards the drain hole--mental note: get a drain catch
Anyway, being this is our first experience with a Newfie blowing coat, how long should we expect this to last this season?

depending on his age, he may also be blowing his puppy coat.
normally if you comb and comb, with a REAL good comb, you can get it out in a day or two.
if you use a high velocity dryer, that is even nicer.
blow him off outdoors, with a 4.0 motor dryer.
sometimes climate, hormones, diet, all contribute to different coats thus different rates of shedding.

Yogi is 4 1/2 months old, so he is probably blowing his puppy coat. We have been brushing him daily several times and it just seems that the loose fur is never ending! We took him to his friend's house (a corgi puppy) for a play date and they romped in the living room. By the end of the night, their brand new carpet was covered with black fur. I was so embarrassed
Luckily, it vaccuumed up nicely
We use a pin brush to brush him and sometimes a slicker brush. I guess we can try a comb too. Thanks!

btw--his fur was soooooo soft after giving him a bath sunday night. I couldn't keep my hands off of him with hugs and kisses

LOl i laugh when people are so reluctant to comb their newfs.
believe me, as a groomer, i sit on the floor with my emmett with a fine toothed comb, like a flea comb and do his whole body.
you will be amazed at what comes out.
that is the correct way, along with blowing them off with the high velocity dryer.

LOL...TY Greg, I've been dying to type that since I first read the post but wanted someone to actually attempt to assist with the problem first.
