Subject: Beware Paid Transporter Anne Marie
Please Crosspost to everyone you know especially the people in the Texas
area to prevent this woman from starting up her business in Texas.
Everyone needs to be aware of this woman and her partner due to the
experiences my rescue has had with her. She has reportedly moved to texas because
of losing her home or to be with her daughter. A few people suggested she
may be running from the law. I am not sure which story is the truth. She
has told different people different reasons. She also took $1100 worth of
crates from NCRR and returned broken, covered in feces, unusable crates. I
have pictures of crates. Several have huge holes chewed in them as if dogs
were constantly kept in the crates and the dogs were eating their way out of
the crates. The large folding wire crates are bent beyond repair and
covered in feces. She told me she came from the car wash and cleaned them out.
When I informed her the crates returned were not returned in the condition
she took them she sent me a text telling me she would "make it right". This
was last week and she will not respond to any contact from me. This number
of crates doesn't represent the other 5 wire crates she said the dogs
destroyed. That's another $600.
Several of our foster dogs as well as other dogs have died in her care.
She reported they "fell over dead". She also reported having many puppies die
from parvo at her house. A boarder picked up their dog and they had to
rush the dog to the emergency vet to save its life. I know of another boarding
dog that "threw up and fell over dead". These were healthy dogs dying in
her care for no apparent reason. It is scary to think how many animals her
son buried on her property.
She was arrested in PA in April for improper transporting of dogs and had
several charges against her. She stated the health certificates blew away
in the wind....article copied below. you can google her name. I do not know
if she ever took care of the charges. I plan on calling to confirm.
I personally have seen her transport van on several occasions and it was
disgusting and smelled so bad I wanted to vomit. The crates had feces and
urine inside. This is a woman profiting on dogs that are not being cared for
properly.
She was turned in to the department of agriculture. I don't think she had
a license to operate a boarding facility. I plan on calling them to find
out why they paid her a visit. She told me she was not a boarding facility
but a babysitter.
Two of her rottweilers are in foster homes of ncrr and both are emaciated.
The male is in pretty bad shape. She did not provide proper vet records
for either dog. We paid for him to go to the vet. He is heartworm positive.
The vet put him on antibiotics for all the rashes, infected cuts and
infected nipples (grossly infected), teeth are ground down from trying to chew out
of a chain or chewing rocks out of boredom. Weight, definitely
underweight, definitely all rottie....looks different because of all hanging skin.
The infections are everywhere.....let's put it this way, we found blood on
his bed and on kitchen floor (more then a drop) from his scratching his
self. The vet said she really can't tell what exactly is wrong with the 2
nipples since she doesn't know if they started out as cuts or got caught on
something?? But they are so big she said they are just masses of
infections. The other infections are just different cuts and from such dry skin and
scratching, open wounds and being dirty!
One of our pit bulls lost 20 lbs in her care and several were skin and
bones. These dogs seen a vet to document the care she provided to them.
She trained a man, Jessie, to help with her transport routes. It appears
he has the same transporting techniques as Anne Marie does and it doesn't
seen like either one considers the health of the animals crammed into the
transport vehicle. Observation of Jessie's transport van " he looked in the
back of transport truck, the guy had all the metal crates taken apart and
kinda Jenga'd back together in this sort of maze of haphazard crates...maybe
that's what he meant when he said "she taught me how to load and carry 27
dogs at once". She was taking crates apart and rigging them to fit more
animals in the van?? "
The male rottweiler arrived filthy dirty and stinking to high heaven. He
appeared to be starved. We are trying to figure out how she was able to
obtain a health certificate for a dog in such terrible condition.
We are taking them in our custody as it is obvious these two dogs were not
being cared for properly.
I am charging her with cruelty in regards to the care she provided to the
rottweilers. Please crosspost far and wide so people are aware of the
dangers their dogs may experience when using Anne Marie and/or Jessie for
transporting or allowing any animal in their possession. Anne Marie is also in
contact with Jennifer Mezours who is a good friend of Joseph Villarosa.

/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement, acting on a
confidential tip, recently found 17 dogs stacked in cramped, dirty conditions in a
panel van in Delaware County, the Department of Agriculture said today.The
transporter, Anne Marie Wessel from Lillington, N.C., surrendered the dogs
to the Pennsylvania SPCA, whose agents arrived after being contacted by
dog wardens. The van contained no food, water, leashes, bowls or bedding.
Two dogs were not contained, and other dogs were held in undersized crates
lacking adequate ventilation.
"This was not a typical rescue transport," Special Deputy Secretary for
Dog Law Enforcement Jessie Smith said. "This was a paid transporter who made
no effort to follow Pennsylvania's requirements for humane transport. These
dogs were suffering from the conditions they had to endure during this
trip."The bureau appreciates the efforts of groups that rescue and find new
homes for dogs in a responsible manner. But this enforcement action is about
a transporter who violated the Pennsylvania dog law and, more importantly,
did nothing to safeguard the dogs under her care."
The dogs were transported from North Carolina. Eleven dogs were bound for
New York and Vermont. Additional dogs had been taken previously to other
locations. Wessel was cited with five transport conditions violations,
failure to have health certificates as required for interstate transports and
for selling a dog in a public place. Health certificates are legally required
for incoming dogs to protect Pennsylvania dogs from contagious diseases
carried by dogs from other states.
"Pennsylvania's new Dog Law added a provision to aid rescues by exempting
transfers between rescue network groups from the ban on dog transfers in
public places," Smith added. "That exemption did not apply here because this
was a paid transporter, not a rescue network member."
