Artifical Tears

Do anyone use Artifical Tears for their dogs? Long story short we found out Jack doesn't produce enough tears to clean out his eyes and has developed a bacterial infection in both eyes. Our vet recommended a few OTC products but most have to be given 3-4 times daily.
Can anyone recommend a product that you have to use less than this or even every other day...

Thanks much.

Cleo developed dry eye and the vet had an artificial tear ointment and sometimes I would also use this.

For me the ointment was easier to use vs the liquid drops (less of a shock to her eye), and with the Newfie eye pockets it goes right in. Also after her initial infection was over I then only had to do it 1-2 times a day depending on the weather.
Hope he feels better soon.

We use cyclosporin drops and an OTC "Genteal Severe Dry Eye Formula". The OTC cost approx $10 and is available in most pharmacies. We were told to put it in after her prescription drops....to " seal" them in. Kim
