Anyone ever notice...

When you visit NN, the first page you get shows the forum broken down into General Newf, Health, Training, Misc., and Off-Topic. When you click on one of the titles in those areas, it takes you to the page listing the threads in that area of the forum. If you look over to the right, there is this little section called "ratings". You'll notice those with stickies have a thumbtack symbol in the ratings column. If you post to a thread, you will see a checkmark in that column. When you post, you "subscribe" to that thread. I've found that doesn't disappear when your post disappears. How cool is that?

Well, if you don't have that...screenshots work too. All computers do that!

Those are for the times when you want to save them before ONE person's posts are removed, without notice, notification, or anything...just poof. And, that person was only responding to what the OP was referring to (like maybe a political post couched in such a way that it could slip by many...but not all).

Subjective post removal has been a problem around here for a very long time...without any rhyme or reason except for the powers that be don't "like" the responder's post, without due consideration to the OP's post being the reason for the responses.

Maybe they just don't understand the hidden meanings for one reason or another? Believe me...there are some of us here that do.

"screen shots"..come on guys..yer killin me! Both my sons would understand this I am certain..but..There comes a time when those of us..older than dirt..are happy to pass..on the fancy stuff. I spent a good portion of this morning..sending absolutely ugly messages to ..son the second..because the google search was flailing away at every known line up of letters..when all I wanted..was the simple name I was typing in!!! I should NOT have brought that up..as I am all 'pantys in a twist'..all over again!! Soldier on good people. Oh..and I am now searching for a simple phone message machine..that does NOT HAVE..whistles and bells. For 3 years I have had a ..fancy one..and by godfrey..it's ..goin down..in the next 2 weeks! ina n HB n Kesa

Screen Shot...click a certain set of keys on your computer and you can save exactly what's on the screen, as a photo, on your computer.

That way, if things happen to get changed, or deleted, and you have a need (or desire) to prove it...you've got the original, prior to the "edits".

They're used a lot in games when things are glitching and the game developers want to see what the players are experiencing.

Can come in handy at times.

All is saved because I chose not to delete the post in case it was later needed. I can delete posts from the database so you'll never see them again.

I can shut down the whole site too. Wanna see?
