I live in British Columbia, Canada. I have contacted 3 Rescues in our area. One in BC and the other two are in Washington and Oregon. The ones in the US have been great and I hope that when the right Newf becomes available we will be contacted. I am open to other suggestions, though. The biggest problem is getting the Newf to me if he/she is on the other side of the country. So for now, I've just contacted Rescues where I can drive to. I know that some people "ship" their pets via planes but I have heard conflicting stories.
Again, if you have any ideas I sure would appreciate the help. Carrie

I'm involved with Newf Rescue here in Ohio.... I work mostly with SCNC Rescue, but have helpted tranport Newfs for PONC Rescue as well.

There are times when relays can be set up, but only after all other details have been worked out. These details include things like homechecks, reference checks, etc.

Home Checks for potential adoptions far away are often handled by other Newf rescue groups nearby or other breed rescues.

I think if it were me, I would want to meet the dog before actually adopting it, so I would rather adopt one from nearby.

When we got Kira, we took Cora with us to "meet" her. Good luck!!!
