Allergies

Does anyone know of a good source of information about food allergies (Newf, of course)on line? We have been trying to find the cause of my pup's hair loss. My vet has her on Hills ultra z/d. The thing is, she started growing hair back before the diet change, but it was only noticeable to me. If she continues to improve, how can I tell if it was the antibiotics, dip, or diet that was the "cure"?
Can anyone give me suggestions for weaning her off the special diet so that if it is a food allergy, I can find out what ingredients she was likely allergic to and avoid them. My vet thinks it was the little treat "bones" that contain corn and wheat. Her basic diet was lamb and rice based. no wheat or corn.

Thanks
Vicki

Your vet should be able to do allergy testing to find what all your newf is allergic to. My vet charges $150 to run the complete set of test. The tests are expensive, but it may be cheaper in the long run if you count all your time and money you will invest in guessing. (switching foods, ect)
