allergies

Both Raven and Luna have inherited their parents allergy issues.

I clean and treat their ears once a week with zymox plus they get 5mg ceterezine hayfever tablet in the morning and evening which seems to limit their paw chewing but not completely.

I am also trying to desensitise their systems with local honey but that will take time.

Any other ideas as may switch them to piriton to see if it works better.

They are fed grain free and also we have minimal carpets here

I have taken Annabelle off all grains except rice and oats....no preservatives, food colouring or any of those numbers and she is on RAW....her coat is awesome now and she is happy. I am especially strict with wheat, preservatives and food colouring. We have gone off wheat too...so no wheat in our household at all. It has made a huge difference to her and Lukey...I wish you luck

ps we add coconut oil, apple cider and tumeric in all meals. No medications at all now

Sarah my black lab has allergies and I give her about a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil every day. While it also boost her immune system it helps with her itching self, plus her coat feels so soft. You could try that and see if it helps Raven and Luna.

Petsmart has a pill for skin, and coat. I have been giving that to Sully for about 3 months now, and knock on wood he has not had any break outs, and he never goes that long without a breakout.

Grain free here too. Can someone elaborate on what a complete raw diet would consist of? There is a provider here but their site states that the salmon and other oily fish meals aren't complete and should be supplemented with other things sometimes...

We do meats/bones/fish (whole) and about 10-15 % offal, but not all days (offal)..we also do green leaf veggies, brassicas, pumpkins and all fruits that are OK for dogs..changes as the season changes and on their weight. And raw rolled oats.
