We've never tried the whole Newf and tree thing...we had 4 cats prior to Ebony so the only trees we attempted were the little guys that sit on a table!

I've already got a couple gifts bought...Eb's b-day is 12/18 so I get to do lots of toy shopping all at once! :D

I SOOOO wish that Christmas was a time when we just got together to enjoy the company of family and friends, over good food and drinks...and did NOT have to shop.

In fact, our family (the older folks, not the kids who still want gifts) for the past couple of years have just been making donations to charities, then sending gift baskets of holiday goodies, rather than buying bunches of "stuff" that none of us really needs. We end up less stressed, and feeling good about having given to a worthy cause.

I think I'll just skip it this year.

I'd better send out announcements now..."We are skipping Christmas this year so please don't buy us anything because we aren't buying you anything!"

Each year around Christmas we have a gathering. Generally about 80 people attend (our living room is 20-25 feet)We will sit in as much of a circle as possible. With a candle in the center of the floor each person will have an opportunity to share something. Some share prayer's, story, song,silence... As each takes their turn they light a candle from the central candle. You can imagine as it nears the last person the room is filled with Light as well as candle light. Then we have fun trying to play music, drinking hot chocolate, roasting marshmallows(out door fire). Before the circle a nice pot luck. We love Christmas and the Holyday season in general!
