We have 2 adult Newfoundlands for sale. They are a breeding pair and CANNOT BE SEPERATED. They CANNOT live without each other. They are very sweet and gentle family dogs. They both get along well with other dogs. They do need quite a bit of attention because they are so loving. The male is approx. 175lbs. and the female is approx. 150lbs. They will be 4 in less than 6 months. She has only had 1 litter. She could very well possibly be pregnant with her second. They do know some commands. I would be happy to email you pictures if you would like to see them and are interested. $900 for the pair. They are in Ohio...(if anybody can help I'll PM the e-mail address.)

They are talking about love and attention..What kind of attention is that if the female"could very well possibly be pregnant" and they are getting rid of her?

Several other adds selling teenagers newfies 350-400$..Unbelivable!

Annie, Jeannie, Gad and Greg,

I hope I am not overstepping here or feel free to jump in...

I understand how upsetting ads such as were posted can be. It is a wonder how people's minds work! However, the post just broadcast to over 700 members and who knows how many unregistered "guests" on Newf Net that there is a breedable pair of Newfs available for sale and at a bargain price. While the internet can be a wonderful tool that can serve to assist rescue efforts, it also is a tool that is used by unethical people, puppy millers and commercial breeders looking for breeding stock. These people have now been alerted about this pair.

I am not slamming you Absolutely New. Your heart was in the right place. We all need to remember that we don't know who is out on the net reading our posts. The best thing to do when you see an ad with Newfs for sale is to privately contact someone in a Newf Rescue program. They have the contacts and resources to quickly and efficently deal with these situations. If they need assistance they can discreetly ask for assistance from the wonderful people on these lists.

I know that people in Ohio rescue are on this particular case. Let's all hope that it isn't too late.

That's why I didn't mentioned the website, the tel, the e-mail address...And I'll send it PM to Annie or other rescues in Ohio if needed.

You are correct, you didn't list any of the direct contacts but it took me less than 5 minutes of searching to come up with the ad.

Again, I don't mean to come down on you specifically, only to make people "in general" aware of the potential problems and get them to think with their heads before they type with their hearts.

Susan, that is a good point you bring up. I guess I never thought of it that way.

Absolutely New, did you send Annie a PM? That is her neck of the woods. The important thing is for those dogs to get away from the idiots who own them now and go to good and loving homes.
