Won't eat

Sally got up this morning and didn't want to eat-she has never done this! Every thing else seems normal, no vomiting or diarrhea and still wants to play. By the way she is 7 years old. When should I start to worry?

She just may have a temporary tummy upset. I would offer her a handful of something in a couple of hours. You may want to take her temp and should watch her for any symptoms cropping up.

Will she eat treats? When they won't take their favorite treat, there's usually something wrong.

Sometimes they just don't want to eat. She won't starve missing a meal or two, but if she goes more than a day, I would call the vet.

When Piper first got the pyo, she was reluctant to eat, but had no other definite symptoms. So you need to be vigilant. Use your instincts and if you are worried, it's worth the vet visit to put your mind at ease.

Thanks. She finally ate her breakfast after I sprinkled some cheese on top of her kibble. I also got her to eat an apple slice and a couple of carrots(those are her treats!)later on,maybe she just wasn't hungry yet. But I will keep an eye on her for the next day or so.

Hurray! So glad she ate! I know how we all worry when the kids won't eat...LOL! Do watch her though. Hopefully she just had a tummy upset and she'll be back to normal by tonight.
