What would you have done if you were me

I do like TEDs approach and I could get away with that here, but if I were Susan I'd be afraid to do that, too.

Yes Nina I have to be careful. I'm not afraid for myself as physically I can take care of myself (I dabbled in kickboxing for a few years and was also a weighlifter for many years) but I always think of my animals before I do anything and whether I'm putting them in danger. Me, I'm in menopause, a terrorist has nothing on me.

LOL - it was just a thought, however I agree with you that it probably wouldn't be a good idea, but at least you can fantasize about it.

Yes Ted unfortunately some of us can only dream of the things we would really like to do out there. It's the fantasies that probably get me through it.

I pick my dogs poop up always;
He needs a lesson for sure,
you informed him, he is just
ignorant. Save up a bag of poop
& hang it on his door!!

I think hanging it on his door is a nice idea but who knows how he will come back at me. Given his ignorance (I think we can all agree that he an ignorant man) I don't think he's worth the trouble. I offered a bag, I told him of the fine for not cleaning up, I cleaned up our mess from his property, short of hitting him over the head with a shovel, I don't think I can teach him anymore. Again today the Bichon pood on his front driveway. None of the dogs that have boarded here nor any of mine have ever done it on his property and now both Bichons have. I thought about leaving it for a split second but I couldn't.

Shame on me. I considered leaving a pile today. Snuffles did his business on a boulevard of a vacant house. When I pulled the bag from my pocket, I realized it had a BIG hole in it. Well I tied a knot in the bag above the hole and did pick it up. Sure glad it was a big load, or I would have had to leave some. :)

One time I did leave a pile from a night walk. I just could not see it. But I did go back the next day and get it. Now I carry a small flash light.

Although I have had no problems as of yet, I always wonder what people are thinking when they see me walking Sam. And unfortunately, the size of the poop I have seen on this street is sizeable and I fear folks will think it is my boy.

I always carry at least 2 plastic bags with me just "en caso".

Yes shame on you Leonard for even considering leaving it. I do have to get a flashlight though not for the street but for my yard so I can see it at night even though I have a light out there if they go beyond it's beam I'm so lost with my failing eyesight. There have been times for me as well when I ran out of bags in the daytime (on client walks) so when I brought the dogs home I drove back to the house to pick it up.

Sue I'm the only one in the neighbourhood who has not one but two very large dogs and they would certainly know right away who it belonged to. The dogs that do get walked here are Toy Poodles, Shih Tzu's, very small dogs. There is no way their poos even come close to the size of my Newfs' poos. Although I must say that lately I have been noticing very large poos out there and I don't know what dogs they are coming from. I keep thinking people are going to think it's my dogs given the size.

I would have picked up the poop in the plastic sack in his yard, and then just left the plastic sack (weighted down) to stay in his yard until whenever he decided that darned sack needed to blow away and wasn't. We have idiots like this in my neighborhood. I would never approach their homes to place the bags on their front doors, but believe me, trash up their yard a few times (by watching intently for other dog poops while walking by) and anchor them in their yards.....they'll get the message! (Or maybe finding a few 'extra deposits' while on your walk and littering his yard with plastics bags), believe me, even a blowhard will get the clue.

I like your thinking Sara but I don't know with this guy. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed that's for sure. Also there are issues in their household that concern me. His step-granddaughter (who's name he didn't know when I asked him) told me last year that her grandmother is swearing at her (this guy's wife). I told her she should tell her mother and she said her mother doesn't believe her. I don't know if the girl (about 13) is telling the truth and I somehow failed her or if she's trying to cause trouble. There's a lot of crap in their home and it wouldn't be wise of me to start with him.

I would pick up the poop from his lawn ... but I would have (and I have done it before) picked up the poo he left behind, and dropped it on his front step with a note saying: "I noticed you 'forgot' to pick this up. Wouldn't want people to think you are a 'crappy' neighbour."

I have done it before, I had a neighbour who wouldn't pick up their dogs poop, so if I noticed it on our walks, I bagged it and left it with a note on her front step". It took about 10 poop drop-offs, but she started to bag her dogs crap!
That is hilarious --- Classic.
