Went to the Breeder's today to "see" Jordan. He's perfect.Well to me anyway. So we bought him home. :D :D He's 5 years old. Neutered.Knows how to sit. lay down. Stay, and Lift his paw so you can trim the pads. Plus he's heels.and when we got home.I went to one side of the house, and Miles went in and got Champ( non newf) who's 6 months old and went to the other side of the house so he could have a pee. Then we meet around the back. First Champ was scared. But once we went into the house he's been all over Jordan and so far is O.K. with him.I let both of them wander around for the first hour or two then I put Champ in his crate and Jordan sat down just in front of the crate. So far no barking at each other. Not sure what will happen when the newness wears off.So far no sign of the cats!!!!They just know there's something big walking around upstairs that breathes alot.
After James dies a year and half ago I seemed to only come in here and read every once in a while. So now I'm back worrying with the rest of oyu about hips. bloat. the whole nine yards.
When I was at the breeders Jordan was lying on the floor and I knelt down and hugged his neck and "smelled" him. Forgetting her standing there I said to my husband,Oh my God he even smells like a newf!!.She just laughed. And then I told her how when James died I had the vet, cut off some of his fur and put it in an envelope so I could smell it every once in awhile.I was telling a friend of mine, That I don't care if I get anything or go anywhere the rest of the year. I'm happy as a clam. Once I get some pictures taken I will have a friend post them.Neighbours across the street nearly had a heart attack.I can't wait for the rest of the street to find out.Karen

I'm so happy for you both. Know about the smell part. When we got our second Newf, my son said he wouldn't be happy unless she smelled right. Now, with two in the house, the smell is a bit overpowering sometimes, but it smells like home. Enjoy each other.

Welcome home, Jordon! Congratulations to all of you! Can't wait to see pictures of the happy crew. (psst, I too have a bunch of Angus' fur tucked away. I still miss him too, like you do James).
You're going to have such fun this summer.
