Weight scale

Can anyone recommend a weight scale for "busy" puppies?:lol:

I bought a great scale at Best Buy (it's like a postal scale) and it works great for the first week or two but once the pups get active, they keep crawling off it and accurate weight can't be had. Our next option here is to step on the scale (eh.....I'M not about to do that..I always gain weight when I have puppies..:blush::roflmao but my daughter doesn't seem to mind doing this chore. We tried today and didn't get an accurate weight. Surely there's a better way to weigh these "in between" pups. Any ideas?

I have a sling scale...Which i use for wildlife. I am sure a sling would do well with puppies

This is the one I got. I put the bottom half of a cat carrier on it (a box with high sides would work fine), then zeroed out the weight. It weighs in oz., grams, kgs, lbs. and oz. The TuffTop is rubber and it keeps whatever you put the pups in still. I love it! They come in various weighing amounts, but once they go to my kennel, I use my big scale.

I have a similar to this. Just always try to get them on when they're almost dozing off. Then they're more likely to stay. Plus it's not THAT important to get a very accurate reading once they're past the critical first few weeks. After that it's just more of getting an idea that they're all gaining weight and eating well.

As the puppies grew, I just used a larger container (box, basket, etc.) and zeroed out the scale before weighing the puppies.

The reviews on the website are not the best, but I did not have any of the issues the reviewers claim. Worked just fine for me and glad I got it. Saved the box and packing material so I could store it for any potential future use.

I have the Tanita Veterinary Scale http://www.tanita.com/en/bd-585-puppy-scale/. It has a "lock-in weight" feature which is great for squirming puppies up to 40 lbs.

I needed an accurate weight so I could give them the proper dose of wormer. I ended up finding a box, putting it on the scale and zeroing it out and then placing the pups in the box. Worked..barely...:roflmao:
