Ok, folks, we did it. We went to the water test and had a wonderful time in spite of "Himself." LOL He was outta control, :!rolling: but we had a lot of fun, I got all that anxiety out of my system and learned a lot, got a lot of good advice, found someone willing to train in the water with....and we entered the next test coming up in Sept. Onward!

Some of the dogs were downright hilarious. Someone had a bitch in heat, who of course wasn't tested directly with the other dogs, but in the control ring it was sooo funny to watch some males walking through the exercises with noses glued to the ground...including you-know-who, who almost went through the ring fencing, he was so enthralled. One dog did all his exercises in slooooow motion and others were like lightening, but they all had us smiling. I was so dumb to be so worried.

Oh, I'm so glad you took the plunge (pun intended). There's nothing like a mischievous dog to put life into perspective and make you realize what's really important. I do hope you pass the water test one day, but the real test has already been passed.

Dogs have it right...just enjoy life and don't sweat the small stuff.

Good for you,
It was all about enjoying the bond that will be worth every second you have working with your dog. Where are you entered in September?

Water tests are just the most fun. Last year was the first year I entered Abbey in water tests and I was so nervous. But by the time the we went to are 3rd test I was better. At are 3rd test Abbey almost retrieved a paddle boarder instead go her life jacket. The judges & I were trying so hard not to laugh at the thought of her pulling in the paddle boarder who never even saw Abbey heading her way.
I love watching all the different jumping styles the dogs have…

We will be testing our water skills here in about 3 weeks, fingers crossed…
Best of luck to you two in NY.

So glad you guys went and had a blast. That's winning! Packing in as much fun as you can and enjoying every moment you are given in this life. Plus there's nothing better IMO than a day on the water with bears and the people that love them :)

The best way to learn now that you have a test under your belt, help steward a test. We are going to Central Ontario September 20th for their test.
