Vomiting and weakness / limping

Question: Dudley vomited 4 times this morning but only one pile of bile. Each episode ended with a very strange noise like nothing I've ever heard before (almost cow like).

Since then, he's been very quiet and lethargic. When he does get up, he stumbles for a bit and then seems ok but still very quiet. He didn't ask for breakfast but did eat (no more vomit since first episode).

It's the lethargy and stumbling that has me very concerned.

Thoughts? Is it ER worthy or should we wait a bit to see if he bounces back? Could he have sprained something in his chest vomiting?

I am certainly no expert, but I would take him in right away just to be on the safe side - I get most worried about lethary and weakness - even more so than the vomiting. So sorry he's not feeling well and hope it turns out to be nothing or something they can easily treat.

Agreed, the lethargy and weakness would lead me to believe some kind of "event" has occurred...He may have aspirated or there could be something more serious going on.

I called the vet and he suggested I watch him for a bit. He has eaten dinner and urinated and had a regular poop. He's still wobbly and lethargic but is at least eating. I do notice that he hangs his head when he's standing as well as being wobbly.

A little coughing when he stands as well.

No restless, pacing or swollen stomach to suggest bloat. He is acting opposite like he doesn't want to move or stand at all.

I'll keep you updated if anything changes. Any other ideas?

For what it's worth. And for peace of mind..I would hustle him in to the vet as soon as possible. Keep us posted.

Dudley's acting almost normal this morning. Ate great, asked to go outside like normal.

Still a little unsure on his getting up but much better than yesterday.

Doc thinks he might of strained something when he vomited. Hence the pain. Unless he gets worse today, he'll see him tomorrow in the office if he's still wobbly.

Keep us posted. If he lived at my house he would have something totally weird going on. You name the rarest diseases, and we've had it, and they all started with throwing up, lethargy and being unsteady.

Dudley's back to normal! Never did figure out what was wrong - maybe he was just sore from vomiting. He's back to his normal, begging, happy doggie life.

And I couldn't be happier!!!
