Update on Mousse

So she's doing well and growing like a weed. She's learning a ton as well. Currently we train every day and tonight is our first night of official training classes with Sue from Denali Training!

Her portfolio includes:
Sit
Down
Speak
Shake
High-5
Wait
Stay
Come
Front
Finish
Heel
Watch

We've been doing a lot of off leash practice on my property with treats.

She excels with a lot of those commands but with some she definitely needs more practice.

Yesterday I was able to get her to do a sit/stay out of sight while I went in the garage for a second to get something.

She did great and did not move even with distractions (other dogs).

We can walk off leash and she stays close and when on leash she doesn't pull. (all on my own property, no practice yet elsewhere).

Here are some pics of her getting all pretty for her first day of training. She's truly a dream dog!

OHH Excuse the fluffy ears!! If anyone is in Rochester NY and knows how to trim up a newf, PLEASE PM Me!!

I've heard wonderful things about Sue and her training. But with that gorgeous face and beautiful little body...that princess could/would walk all over me.

Hehe Thanks guys!

She does literally walk all over you if you lay down on the floor and cover your face! :p

Can't wait until training for this evening. Very excited!

I'm really impressed! Excellent job teaching your pup all those commands. Early training will pay off big time down the road and you will be so proud of your girl for years to come. I wish more people would understand how fast a young pup soaks up training and how much they really enjoy pleasing you.

It's important to remember that you may have to backup once you get out and start practicing other places. There are lots more new and interesting distractions. If you find she's not working well for you, just start from scratch, have patience and you'll find she picks everything up again pretty quickly. Lots of positive motivation and don't forget to use your watch command. It's the foundation stone of training. Glad you taught it early.

Thanks everyone. First day of training went really well. We seem to already know what we're working on in class, but being able to work on it with all those distractions is great for training. At home, we don't have a bunch of puppies for distractions so I think this will strengthen her training even more!
