Someone told me that Turkey is bad for dogs. I thought boneless turkey was fine... I even cook a breast now and then to mix with their kibble..... Please advise....thanks! Jill

I read that the SKIN is bad for dogs, too high fat content. Upsets their tummies. Raw turkey is fine I beleive...mine all got a taste for Thanksgiving...along with some cheesecake...LOL...

Maybe if the meat has a lot of salt/sodium from what ever packers do like inject saline solution and the way people cook them? I would not think *real* turkey especially cooked would be bad as such.

I feed raw and give turkey every now and then. Mine love turkey necks. The bone in the neck is fine for them. I just got a turkey for free and cut all the meat off for them. I don't feed any other bones from it but know people that do. I always cut the skin off.

I agree No skin only meat! I Did that once on thanksgiving and found a supprise on my stairs the next morning. I stepped in, slid down the steps and it was all over me head to toe. True story just ask my wife she love to tell that one to everyone.

Alllllrighty then. I really have no words to express the horror going through my mind. Or the gut wrenching belly laugh coming out my mouth.

Really, I am so sorry for your misfortune, but the visual is controlling me. So glad I didn't read this with my morning coffee.

I steer clear of giving anything turkey to my dog after an unfortunate incident with my lab. She was crated when it "hit" her, and when I came home, my yellow lab was um, chocolate. She bent the bars on her crate trying to get out, and my ex-husband had to stand in the yard with a hose directed at her bum. All. Night.

We had to get her medicine to STOP it, then START it again when she became constipated. Crate was ruined. Carpets were cleaned. Total cost of giving her 4 small pieces of turkey was about $400-$600.

Before we figured out Turner is allergic to chicken we gave them raw turkey necks and they loved them without any side effects. Now we steer clear of any poultry just incase.
