Treat Recipes

I just noticed this on the Animal Planet website: http://animal.discovery.com/convergence/apcooks/apcooks.html
This page features recipes, video tips and clips, and a recipe exchange also.

You guys may already know about this but just incase I thought I'd post it.
Being a chef, and having a dog that's as much of a "foodie" as I am, the word "recipe" always catches my eye.

Bridget,

Depends on how "sugarless" you want to go. Does she simply want to cut out white processed sugar or all forms of sugar? Molasses, fruits, even flours can contain natural sugars.

If they can have fructose (or fruit sugar, simple sugar found in honey, fruits and other parts of plants), then this site is a good resource for sweets/cookie recipes for her boys: http://www.diabetic.com/recipes/old-fashioned.html

I'd love to help. Talk to her and see exactly what she means by "keeping them off sugar". Then I think I can be of better assistance.

As for Tuggs, I just got a recipe for Honey Bunches (cookies). I think it was you who mentioned you gave him honey for his heart on occassion and he really likes it. This recipe is for human consumption but I think I can replace the butter with veggie oil. I have to test it. I'll get back with you on that. Oh, can dogs have sweetened coconut?
