Ok, since Malka has been officially diagnosed with a torn CCL my sister and I were discussing trimming her back feathers short. Not shaved or anything, but short enough to keep her clean when she goes to the bathroom and make it easier to brush her while she rehabs. (It figures they are just starting to blow out.) My question is what would be the best way to do this? She has a long shaggy coat with lots of extra hair hanging down. We do not have a groomer near us that we trust to take her to. Any suggestions? Would a Mars Coat King be enough? (We don't have one yet, but have been talking about purchasing one.) And how to trim her without it looking chopped and awful? :shocker: I am not very good with thinning scissors yet. I keep trying, but that's a whole other problem. And we would need to do it with her lying on her side most likely. Any thoughts?
