To BARF or not to BARF

Hi,
Newby Here, I don’t even have my Newf yet, but I’m a planner. The BARF approach appeals to me. I live on a farm and I jokingly told my wife we’ll raise half a cow for us and two for the Newf.
One thing does come to mind though, if I feed my dog raw meat its diet is going to vary. Probably liver when the animals are processed and muscle meat after that. There may also be pork, chicken…whatever.
Does this change of diet cause problems? Also, if you have a dog on a BARF diet and decide to go to kibbles, will the transition be a problem?

Hy, I don't know what's right anymore, I guess what works for your dog, must be it. But I do have some experience and I belive that coming from barf to kibble might be a problem. In my experiences dogs that are used to eat meat and the rest are not so fond of eating kibble. They might even refuse it. My previous dog even rejected all canned food. Of course the hunger might change their attitude. That's why although I feed fresh food, I also feed kibble so the dog is used to it.

Hi, since you don't have your newf yet, you have lots of time to read, read, read and make your decision. Here's a site that might be helpful to you.

http://njboxers.com/faqs.htm

It has questions a new BARFer may have and the answers from experienced BARFers.

I personally have moved to BARF for my crew. I was going to feed them kibble along with some BARF but the more I read, the more I decided to go completely BARF.

It's a personal decision what you decide to do. The more you read, the more confident you will feel with whatever choice you make. Good luck, Linda

Ian Billinghurst appears to be the source of BARF info. Any suggestions as to which of his books I should read first?
