Throwing up

Hi all...Jake who is now 6 threw up 2 weeks ago large amount of liquid. It covered his bed, went through to the floor and all over the floor. Only one time. Today, he would not eat breakfast and when I went to let him out to pee, he had thrown up all over the basement. He soaked through 2 beds and again all over the floor. When I mean soaked through I mean it was running out the sides and bottom when I picked it up. As far as I know, he hasn't eaten anything weird. He is drinking which I am assuming he is throwing up. He is acting fine but I know this isn't normal for him at all. I will see how he is in the am before calling the vet. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I would make an appt. just to err on the side of caution. I hope it's nothing serious and he feels better very soon.

My Vet was not in today...but Jake is acting his normal self...he has eaten and is running around barking acting fine. I think he licks himself and gets hair in his throat which is causing him to throw up. If he does it again I will take him to the Vets...he isn't loosing weight or anything else.

Glad Jake is feeling better. Is he getting sick at night? He might be getting sick from an empty tummy depending on what time you feed him his evening meal. Just a thought or maybe it was just some little 24 hour bug and he is all better now.

He is all better...I really think it is that he is obsessive compulsive with his licking and biting his fur around his hip area. Nothing is there...we have shaved it and nothing...we asked our vet for anti anxiety meds but it is $500 per month and we just can't afford that. He is always licking and panting and can't sit for more than 20 seconds...seriously...no more than that at a time. I feel so bad for him...he is such a love but literally drives us crazy!!

Does he have a problem with that hip area? Something going on with the bone/joint that would cause him discomfort so he is biting and chewing the area?

They have those dog pheromone collars or sprays that might help calm him down without the expense of anxiety meds, that might help Jake.
