Last night Thule and I went for a walk and met this lovely elderly lady in front of her house. She was so excited to see Thule and hugged her and kissed her and, of course, had to get some cookies to give her. Thule gave her kisses and gave paw for her cookies; they both enjoyed their meeting, and then Thule and I walked home. This morning, I completely reversed the walk and went a different way, but still had to pass this house, and sure enough, little miss Thule stopped dead in her tracks and turned to go up the walk to this lady's front door! As it happened the woman was in her window and saw what Thule did... I could tell she was really pleased! She has a friend for life now in Thule.

These dogs are awesome! I love them more and more every day (if that's possible)!

I was loading groceries into the back of the Mountaineer at Wally World yesterday and a lady 2 cars over was loading rugs, and stuff into her trunk. She asked: Is that a dog in there, when I said 3 her eyes got big. She asked what kind they were and if she could come over and pet them. Of course!! LOL She told me she had a Saint Bernard and was buying all kinds of rubber rugs and stuff to try to protect her carpets from slobber when he gets a drink. I told her about the rubbermaid drink box and she said she was going to take everything back she'd just bought and buy the stuff to make one of those. So not only did the boys make a new friend, she got a good tip (and lots of Newfie kisses) as well.

Awww... I love this story! So cute. It's amazing how good their memories can be when it comes to cookies. :) Ayasha definitely learns quickly who the best "treat ladies" are.

Yeah, Snuffles will stop dead in his tracks too at a few places on our walks. It is more because of the dog(s) that live or lived there.

The funniest is the Pesky Little Varmints (5 Bassets right now) house. If we drive, he will not want to get out of the car. He even cowers when I reach in to get his collar. But if we are walking down the cross street (a walk route) that is one house from the corner, he will stop and try to go toward the house. Go figure.

What's a rubbermaid drink box??

You just take a rubbermaid container, get 1 or 2 large bowls with lips and cut holes in the top of the container to fit the bottom of the bowl(s). The weight of the water makes where the bowl is lower, so any water run off goes down under the bowl into the container. Doesn't help with the water left in their flues after they leave the bowl, but it cuts down around the waterer by a good 80%. (Thanks Mickey in FL.) ;) Make sure the top of the container has at least a slight indentation as the picture above to catch most of the water as they are drinking.

Wow I am going to start doing this. I am already 1/2 way there I set Monty's bowls (Water & Food) on top of a Rubbermaid Container that I use the inside to hold all his kibbles so they stay fresh (not that they last that long to bigin with) the weight of the kibbles keep him from being able to push around the container so it stays in one spot. But he does drip a LOT of water into the lid, so now I will do one for water and one for food. Thansk so much!
