hey guys, emmett says a huge thank you!! only thing is there are two beautiful newfs entered in this contest, and he goes up against the winner of the runoff for the month of december! arrrggggg

also i have a question about a pup that gets to excited and doesnt nurse right, we have him on esbilac formula and he wont drink out of anything but a human baby bottle. is that enough nutricion?

As a baby, it is probably enough. But do check with your vet ASAp. Don't give up on trying to get him to nurse on mom. Let him have preferencial treatment...firstsies and no competition ( put the others in a warm box for a few minutes... you know, the "incubator". Put him on one of the big teats toward the rear. Give him a few minutes without his siblings. That may help. If he can suck from a bottle, he can do it from mom.

thanx, if i put him on the back teats after the tanks start on them. would that help him? it seems that he gets so excited that he looses interest or somthing, not sure what? have you had this happen before?
a good friend of mine had a litter of 9 and three of them had to be bottle fed becouse they got to excited and didnt nurse correctly.

Vicki one more thing i noticed, he doesnt lock his tongue like the other two do, does that mean anything as far as nursing goes? i would think that locking the tongue creates the suction needed to get the milk.
also i had called my vet, he recomended the bottle feeding and the puppy replacement milk.

CUTE PUPPIES I want a Landseer so bad...well, someday. I asked Santa for one, well someday. If only our house and yard were bigger........and I had 3 hands to pet all at once......keep dreaming.....someday.

Listen to your Vet. But let him at mom whenever possible. Don't let him get tired.
