Bella Bear passed her TDI test with flying colors today! Well, technically we both passed but she really did the work. She was perfect today even when another newf came into the room for the test AND there was a newf puppy in the room. Since Bella rarely sees another newf (except the gang here) unless it's at a newf function, she really wanted to visit, but did very well in staying focused on what we were doing. She did get to visit with the newfs after the test.

Bella showing off her ribbon for passing the TDI test today.
Way to go Bella Bear!

Cathy C, the requirement are a little different with each group that does therapy dog testing. TDI tests that the dog is well behaved (not pulling, lunging, barking etc), that you have control. They do need to know sit, down, stay, come and leave it at the minimum. They cannot be aggressive, overly excitable (out of control), fearful. And they cannot pick up food from the floor, table. You can give commands like leave it as much as needed around food, dogs, people etc. If they can pass the Canine Good Citizen test you wouldn't have much work to do for therapy dog as long as they are friendly. For TDI, you can see the testing requirement (and where they have tests scheduled) on their site. www.tdi-dog.org Sorry it took so long to get back to you, my grandkids are visiting. lol
