This morning at 10 till 6 a customer is bringing her dog in for boarding. It is 25 degrees and the customer is standing in the doorway with the door wide open calling her dog to come in. The dog is on a flexi leash and is running back and forth with the leash fully extended. I suggested to the customer to lock the leash. She said she can't figure out how to lock it. So I gave her a kennel leash to put on the dog so she would have control. She takes the leash and I walk inside and close the door. The next thing I know she is standing in the open doorway with the dog running back and forth on the flexi leash. I asked her if she if she put the leash I gave her on the dog. She said yes but it was not making a difference. I finally realized she put the kennel leash around the dog's neck but was not using it to lead the dog inside. I told her to hold on to the kennel leash so she would have control and bring the dog in. Duh, why would I give her a leash to use and she puts it over the dog's head but does not use it.
