Static

I am getting A LOT of static when I am brushing Kaysie. So bad I can hear it crackle, I hope it doesn't hurt her when I brush her but is there anything to control it? If so, what do you use?

Thanks,
Heather

I've been noticing static too, mainly when I have slippers on and pet the dogs. BAM somebody (usually me) gets poked by static. In the past I've turned on a humidifier and that keeps the whole house less dry, that will help fight static overall. Not sure what you can do if its only during brushing.

There are lots of ways to control static while brushing your Newf. The cheapest is to get a spray bottle and mist water on the hair as your comb. You can also mix a very very small amount of conditioner to the water to make a combing spray. It helps get out the tangles as well as controling breakage of the hair

Thanks for all the tips, I am going to try mixing a small amt of conditioner in a water bottle and spray the coat with it. Sounds like a really good idea since it helps with the tangles.

Thanks,
Heather
