Ok, I am so sorry to keep bothering with my food questions this adult food thing is very confusing to me. I see why you do it, I am just confused about how much to feed for instance california natural says for a 40 lb moderately active dog feed 2.5 cups a day. Bear is STARVING on 3 cups a day. He will not rest, constantly in the trash eating anything and everything even non food items! How do I know how much to feed my puppy 14 weeks with adult food and how do I know when to increase it. Thanks!!!

My people are told, that yes they are STARVING!!! LOL
but....the key is to give them, yogurt, veggies, like green beans, brocolli and other things in between meals.
do not overfeed!
if i overfeed on the wysong they get loose stools.
there are other foods out there the same.
my pups here now, act like they are dying of hunger right before each feeding, but once they eat are satisfied until the next feeding, so to help with scarfing food down, i have been giving little goodies once in a while to cut down on that now that they are older.
do not give doggie treats from the store, the calories and protein are very high, let alone the garbage included in them.

newby let me tell you my little guy is 15 weeks and on calif. natural. he gets like 2 cups at each meal.....3 times a day. plus a little turkey and some chiken necks.....he s 41 lbs at 15 weeks.sometimes he eats all of his food like its his last meal and other times he might eat half.....so i think u might be underfeeding him......hope this helps
