I just learned this morning that Peter LaFleur (Newf Net's plafleursr) passed away in July. Peter was a very nice man, a gentleman, who loved his dogs and was always ready to help Newf Rescue, and was involved in Therapy Dog visitation. His Venus was always decked to the nines, pulling her cart and acting as an ambassador for the breed. Pete's wife Jeanne, also made the best dog cookies and treats to share at events. Although Peter was a man of few words his presence at NCNE events will be sadly missed.
In his memory, That Newfoundland Place, a Newf Rescue in CT will be dedicating it's fall open house to Peter in recognition of all the support he provided to them in the last 5 years. The event will be held on October 5th at That Newfoundland Place, 554 Pucker St. Coventry, CT 06238 or donations in his memory can be sent to www.ThatNewfoundlandPlace.org.
Rest in Peace, Peter, I'm sure there were many happy old friends there to greet you as you crossed the rainbow bridge.
