Small Digital Cameras

We have a Sony digital camera that we have had for about 3 years now. I see all these really small cameras now.

If you have a small digital with at least 5 megapixels, what kind do you have and do you LOVE it?

I would like to get a small one, but am stumped as to which one to get!

I'm using a HP Photosmart R707, and I really do like it, but its NOTHING like some of the "bigger, badder" cameras around here. But for me, the amateur, who just wants quick and easy with not to many frills, this was a great buy. Costs now around $250.

I have them all.
Well, lots.

I have or have had:

Fuji 2MP
Canon S410 4mp
Canon SD400 5mp I think
Canon S80 8mp
Casio Z750 7mp

By far, the best picture comes from the Canon s410. It blows away my S80 which cost twice as much and had 8mp. The S80 has the best features, and the Casio was probably the most fun, but for quality pics, the s410 blows them all away. The slightly newer s500 (5mp) is equally as good.

I live in the dark ages...

I have a Nikon FA body
Nikon motor drive
Nikkor 50mm lens
Nikkor 300mm f4 ED-IF lens
Slik Tripod
Fuji DL-400 Tele (cheap but lightweight)
Assorted filters/polarizers
A Retina Reflex (sort of a Clark Kent kind of camera)w/exploding flash attachment
An ancient Leica (very chic in its day)
A Brownie box camera (camera obscura brownicus)
A big box of ancient developing equipment

Am I tellin my age yet?

I would love a Nikon D-50 and have used and like the Canon G5

Canon seems to have its act together on digital photography and videography.

MAgs Dad is right in my opinion. I'm by no means a good photographer but my work requires that I work with professional photographers every day, and from everything they tell me, Canon has led the digital field for quite some time now. All of our regular pros shoot with Canons, save for one, who's work is noticeably "different" than the others ... whether that's a factor of the photographer or the gear (or the photographer not knowing what to do with the photos once they come out of the camera .. in which case we'd rather have them send them to us without touching them AT ALL), I don't know. I think that all trickles down to the smaller point-and-shoot varieties too. I have a Canon Powershot A80 .. which is only 4 megapixels but for what I use it for it's been great.
