Rescue info & help needed.

Hi everyone. My name is Amy & I used to be on here a lot in the early 2000's. I had 2 sweet boys, Bo & Levi for several years. I lost Bo in 2014 & just recently lost Levi. The house is so empty & my hubby & I want to add another Newf to the family, but we're not sure how to proceed. I have filled out the NCA adoption application & have e-mailed the contact person who represents both Penn-OH & SCNC but so far have not heard back from any of these groups. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on where to go from here?

I would email the contacts again, and of course, go to Newf Friends in Ontario. I fall in love every time I look on that site. Best of luck finding new love.

I would email them again. Or check their Facebook pages.

Sometimes it takes a while for volunteers to get back with you.

If you're on Facebook look up Heart of America Newfoundland Rescue. We currently have 3 Newfs in foster care near Omaha, NE. One girl, Ebony, is not ready for a new home yet (and may stay with her foster mom), and the other two, Mo and Bailey are seniors that we would prefer to place together. You can read their stories there. You are certainly welcome to submit an application for any Newfs we get or those we have now. FYI the FB page says the dogs are in Lee's Summit, MO, but they are actually in NE foster homes right now.

Also, there are several links on our page to our website and to other rescues.

Checking Facebook just might lead you to the right place.

good to see you Amy. I'm the person who has Gracie...Levi's sister. She's doing well. If it's true that only the good die young...then Gracie has many years left!

Amy, just keep touching base with SCNR, to keep your name fresh. The last year and a half has been pretty crazy for that particular rescue. They just might not have a dog that is a good fit at the moment.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep checking back. At this point I just filled out the basic contact info. I haven't found anywhere that I can give them any info about our lifestyle & preferences.
I'm so glad to hear that Gracies going strong. You're right.... there was a reason we called that litter "the spawn" LOL! I miss my boys soooo much.
