Well my high maintenance baby hellraiser has hurt herself again.

She got barged by the other two when playing and yelped.metacam and rest have made no difference.

She doesn't show pain when l move her joints, done the dragging feet check and run my hands on her spine, all to no avail.

So Monday she is going to the specialists again and possible CT scan.

She had an MRI today and she either has a herniated disc or a lump on the spine though too early to say if we've got another newf with cancer .

She's being operated on either tomorrow or Thursday and hopefully will have more answers then.

Wow. You really have lots of health issues with your newfs. Glad they have you to do what is best for them. I'll be thinking of Raven. Please keep us posted.

Well it's a good job l get the high maintenance ones as they always get the best.

So far we are padding out the dining room as a recovery area and she's in surgery now

The specialist thinks I'm joking as I've already asked for sedatives for her while she recovers as she is never going to be an easy patient.the dining room has non slip mats everywhere and is lined out with cardboard boxes so she can't knock herself .

Tonight it's part it out with duvets everywhere

I know she was on morphine yesterday so didn't want to move so hoping today she will be up and moving slightly

Struggling to get her eating so lots of handfeeding and honey/maple syrup mixes.
She's got an occasional cough that then makes her bring up bile.

Also got really stressed being separated so we've ended up blocking off sofas, stairs, etc.lots of non slip mats and she's better as she's sleeping more.
Just constantly monitoring her.

At night or if we are out she's confined but she's walking well.

Tiring patient

Well the Diva is going to the vets this morning.

We suspect upper respiratory tract infection as it's not a classic kennel cough.
She coughs when she gets excited or dry throat.

So going to get it checked as a precaution.

On the plus side she's happy, and not whining a lot.

Also she managed to polish off almost a complete slow cooker meal of brown rice, fish and vegetables l made up for her in the morning.
So she's getting hungry which is generally a good sign with her.

Still not a classic easy patient as to stop her being stressed she's barred from getting on or up anything but is allowed in the lounge with us and she tends to settle well then.

Still confined at night though
