I was just wondering....
From what I've been reading (and was as far as I knew) the Canadian Kennel Club only recognizes blacks, blacks with white markings, and landseers....

So I'm not sure how a brown newf is #1 Newf in Canada 2007 and 2008, even if he is an import....

Or am I missing something here? Show standards and championships and 3 letter acronyms and their meaning are all a little beyond my experience.

I really *like* the browns, it would be nice to know if they are 'allowed' in Canada

Hmm, interesting. I don't know what an Elite Champion is, or FCC, or CFC. Maybe Peter will shed light on this. Browns and Greys are not eligible for showing in CKC conformation shows in Canada. They can compete in obedience, rally, water and draft.
