A family friend had an incident a few days ago, she was out with her 2 kids walking their 18 month old Wire Haired Pointing Griffon Falkor, when they were attacked by a couple of "unsupervised" pit bulls. She and the kids are fine, as Falkor got between them and took the brunt of it, including a collapsed lung, broken ribs and multiple open wounds.
At this point it looks like he'll be ok, but they are stuck with something like $3500 in vet bills. She is a medical student raising two kids with little to no help from the father or from her parents (she actually lived with my parents for a couple of years during high school).
Please, say a few prayers for her, the kids and poor Falkor
