Please say a prayer for my Chase. She got up and ate this morning at 4:15. She ate a bite of toast at 6:30. By 7 a.m. she will stand and just collapse. She won't eat her favorite cookie and only took one lick of water. Going to call my vet at 8 when she opens. Hopefully she can figure this out. Chase will be 13 1/2 on Friday. I checked her over especially her ears. I hoped that an ear infection would cause her equilibrium would be off but her ears are fine.

I know there’s something called tick paralysis. I don’t know much about it, or where in the country it occurs. Could she have been bitten by a tick?

My thoughts are with you and Chase. Hope this is just temporary and that she will be back to her sweet self soon.

Chase's gums are pale so the vet did blood work and she has an infection. Kidney enzymes are slightly elevated so she thinks maybe a UTI or Kidney. Gave her an antibiotic shot and sent home Baytril for her. She said an infection can really knock older dogs for a loop. All the blood work is basically in line with the foundation blood work I had them do 2 years ago. So glad I had it done so she could compare. I"ll keep you posted.

I just tried to feed her and she won't eat.

She is drinking. I wanted her to eat before giving her the pills. I also wanted something that would not upset her stomach. So I made her scrambled eggs. She ate them then I shoved the pills down her throat. Hopefully by morning the meds will work and she will feel better.

I don't see much improvement today She would not eat her kibble this morning even with tuna on top. She cannot get up and she has labored breathing.

Have you tried other foods, like the scrambled eggs, or even canned meat etc? Praying hard.
