Prayers for Calza

My 9 1/4 year old Landseer girl is in really bad shape. She has the following.

1. Active Lyme Disease.
2. Bleeding from a nipple.
3. Dark, asphalt like stool.
4. Tumors on a foot. The vet is afraid part if her left rear foot is going to have to be AMPUTATED.

I have not been told this, but I have a sense of forboding that the last three items are related. Vet isn't saying "cancer", but is saying "tumor" and "possible amputation."

Things are mixed today. The best thing is that her attitude is good. She is getting a lot of babying.

The BAD news is that I just got off the phone with the veterinarian. He is disappointed that the swelling in her foot isn't going down more with the NSAIDs. We are both afraid of cancer right now, seeing that she has other bad things going on.

We go back to the vet on Tuesday. We will know more then...

Sorry this is happening..black stools usually means bleeding in the stomach (digested blood) and this can be due to the amount of NSAID's Calza is having orally, if given orally , could they be given via injection for a time. And if it is not cancer, could she have direct injections of a cortisone in the foot. But only if it is not tumours/cancer.
The nipple could be totally unrelated or if it is cancer be a primary or secondary :(....But I would also get some bloods done and see what her coagulations are like. As the black stool and bleeding from nipple could be related that way.
prayers form us :( Ronnie

Thanks for the information, Ronnie!

The bloody discharge from the nipple started a few days before Calza went on NSAIDS, so I don't know if that is the problem. I got a call from the vet today, though and he told me to STOP the NSAIDS since they don't seem to be fixing the swelling "tumors" Calza has on her left rear leg.

Calza and I go back to the vet on Tuesday. We will keep everyone posted.

Oh, I'm so sorry to read this. You've both been in my prayers and I hope the vet has some answers for you on Tuesday.

We may have to drop by tomorrow, which is Monday. She has refused to eat since 10:00 last night, in spite of a change in meds, with the addition of Pepcid, per the vet's orders.

Continued prayers for your sweet Calza. If she were mine I would likely not be able to wait until Tuesday.:( Hopefully the AM will find her feeling better.

We went by the veterinarian, but unfortunately, Monday is his surgery day. We may try to go back later.
