Poop Question

Tess does not seem to be able to hold on as well these days. She can only do a short walk and then she has to let go. Her 11th birthday will be in December. Never had a giant breed live this long, is this normal?

Wow almost 11! That is great. At this age, behavior can change due to pain or physical conditions. That is the same for all breeds. You just have to work around her schedule or life changes. Any diet changes?

All I can say is don't go far and don't go fast...but go for walks...enjoy every day you have with her....maybe she is just pooping as she is going for her walks.

As anyone gets older I think this happens - people or dogs or whatever. If she's not having accidents in the house, diarrhea, etc, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Walking gets the bowels moving!

No dietary changes. My yard is not fenced here so I have to take her out on a leash. Guess change brings awareness sometimes. No inside problems thusfar.

Gracie at 12 was like this also. Just take it easy on the walks and let her set the pace. Doesn't sound as if she has a real problem. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go. Give your girl a big hug from someone who is missing her old girl.
